I am a communing member of Trinity Presbyterian Church (PCA) with my family. We adhere to the Westminster Confession of Faith of 1647. I sing in the choir on special occasions (Wayfaring Stranger - Trinity Presbyterian Church Opelika - Apple Podcasts ).
I was blessed with a wife in 2003 by the Lord. He gave us children in 2010 and 2012. We believe in family prayer and worship. We make a priority to spend time in the Word of God and pray with one another each day. This may be reading through the Bible together in a year, reading through the New Testament chronologically in a year, reading through a devotional in a year, reading through a book together, or other purposeful spiritual family journeys.Â
I enjoy harvesting oysters in Mobile, AL. We did this recreationally in 2023 and commercially in 2024. It really is hard work.
When I began my teaching journey in 2001, I was given a heart to work with children during summer camps. Part of this love for summer camps was from my own joyful experiences at Camp Chula Vista, outside Birmingham. I was able to serve at this camp for a few years. Before serving at Camp Chula Vista, I worked with Camp Providence in Opelika, AL. My boys attend and attended Camp Maranook in Lafayette, AL during the summers. Most recently, my family and I have worked withJohni and Friends and Quiet Waters. A family camp (retreat) dedicated to serving all who are suffering with disease, disability, and disorder.
I enjoy working on automobiles. I often have one or two cars I am working on to put back on the roads.
